This pilot allows us to showcase our product’s ability to effectively serve a broad demographic with a wide variety of health goals and conditions.

Get Real Health furthered its mission of empowering patients across the globe, by developing a pilot program for eHealth Saskatchewan targeted at improving access to health data for residents of the province, giving patients a real-time view of their overall health.
The solution, Citizen Health Information Portal (CHIP), was launched in January with the goal of gaining real-world feedback from roughly 1,000 residents over a six-month trial period. CHIP offers Saskatchewanians one place to store health data, including lab results, profile information, immunizations, and pharmacy and hospital visit histories.
CHIP, using TELUS Health’s Personal Health Record, powered by Get Real Health’s InstantPHR® patient engagement platform, integrates with Saskatchewan’s existing pharmaceutical, chronic disease management and general health data repositories. “CHIP will enable Saskatchewanians to securely see, share and manage their health data all in one place. It’s a huge step toward realizing Saskatchewan’s vision of connected care, engaged patients and better health outcomes for all its residents,” says Robin Wiener, president and founding partner of Get Real Health.
CHIP participants will not only be able to access their files through a highly secure, personalized login, but also be able to add medical information to their personal profiles, such as health metrics or reminders to take medication. Participants can also view their family members’ health care information and authorize their doctor and health care providers to view their profile.
Wiener continues, “This pilot allows us to showcase our product’s ability to effectively serve a broad demographic with a wide variety of health goals and conditions.”
During participant feedback interviews, patients told eHealth Saskatchewan that the portal helped them keep track—in real-time—of their health data and medical records via their tablet or smartphone.
In the coming months, eHealth Saskatchewan will review results of the pilot and determine whether to further expand CHIP to a larger population.
