New Sanctri Partnership Brings Grief Support to the College Campus
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 06, 2014 -- Sanctri (Sanctri.com) announced today a partnership with the National Students of AMF Support Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting college students who are grieving the illness or death of a loved one. Sanctri will serve as a resource for the organization itself and the 3,000 plus students it represents in Actively Moving Forward.
“National Students of AMF is excited to partner with Sanctri to provide a positive and inspiring new way to connect students and friends as they create memorials for their loved ones through this great new Facebook app,” says Kiri Thompson, Director of Programming for AMF. “We feel this will be a wonderful way to honor their loved ones while also helping lend support as a "community" in the virtual world we live in.”
1 out of every 3 college students is dealing with the illness or death of a loved one. AMF has made it their mission to spread the word about this “silent epidemic” and the needs of grieving college students, through happenings like the National College Student Grief Awareness Day on April 23rd. Sanctri signed on as an Awareness Advocate for the event, and from there the partnership took root.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with AMF and bring Sanctri to the college campus,” says Joanna Wexler, head of strategic partnerships for Sanctri. “These students are online more often than they’re offline. It makes sense that they should have a social platform to grieve together and remember those they’ve lost.”
Sanctri created a special National Students of AMF community within the app for members from campus chapters nationwide to join. Students can then create Sancti online memorials for who they’ve lost, and add them to the community for everyone to remember.
Being a registered 501c3, AMF was also added to Sanctri’s charity database to be available for in-app donations. “Students can create a memorial and then select AMF as one of the three non-profits to donate to in [that person’s] memory. The ability to further a cause like this in honor of someone you loved is unparalleled,” says Wexler. “Donating in memory – easily, online - is a powerful thing. It’s wonderful to bring that to our relationship with AMF.”
