Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Rick L. Shackelford will be speaking at the Beard Group Inc.’s Class Action Money & Ethics Conference which is being held May 1, at the Harmonie Club in New York City.
Shackelford, co-chair of the Greenberg Traurig Food & Beverage Group, co-chair of the firm’s Class Action Litigation Practice, and co-chair of the Los Angeles Litigation Practice, will address the primary jurisdiction doctrine and the likely impacts of pending Food and Drug Administration guidance on the use of the term “natural,” the measurement of common impact and economic damages in consumer fraud matters, the likely impact of the Ninth Circuit’s ConAgra opinion addressing a separate administrative feasibility prerequisite to class certification, and labeling omissions and the failure to warn.

According to the event organizers, this event will bring together class action professionals from a variety of disciplines for a one-day conference in Midtown Manhattan to discuss economic and ethical considerations in class actions, and to provide valuable networking opportunities among top-tier professionals. The Beard Group plans to host the conference on an annual basis.
