Gullicksen Encourages Others to Better Community through Example
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) August 06, 2018 -- Tim Gullicksen, of the Gullicksen Group, is proud to be an active member of his community.
"There are a lot of ways we can all get involved to help our city fight some of the challenges it faces," said Gullicksen. "San Francisco is a great city, but it can be even better!" said Gullicksen.
He lives in the Castro neighborhood, where he has adopted three storm drains. He keeps them clear of debris so water doesn't fill the intersection during storms. Gullicksen says a little weeding, sweeping and picking up of the garbage can really make a difference. Sign up to adopt a storm drain at adoptadrain.sfwater.org.
He also donates to a fantastic group called Castro Cares, which can be found on their website at http://www.castrocares.org. This community collaborative group works to assist homeless people living on the streets. They connect citizens in need to the full array of services available throughout the city, as well as the resources of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, be they in need of substance abuse, behavioral health, medical or shelter needs.
Lastly, Gullicksen has been a long time member of the Eureka Valley Neighborhood Association. Since 1881 this group has provided a neighborhood forum to discuss common issues and concerns, and help develop solutions to improve the neighborhood. To learn more, visit http://www.evna.org.
Gullicksen said the biggest topics of discussion at the EVNA meetings are homelessness, neighborhood safety, and development.
"Everyone agrees that rent and purchase prices are too expensive, but new development is controversial in existing neighborhoods that have a certain character like the Castro," said Gullicksen.
