Author Gwen Lutz Invites Readers on a Journey Through the Garden and Beyond
Zelienople, PA (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- Author Gwen Lutz had the privilege to grow up and live in Western Pennsylvania, an area that was once much rural than it is today. Farming and gardening, hunting, butchering, canning, and preserving added to the experiences of her youth while living in the woods and learning about nature. She invites readers to come on a little journey as she shares the things she has seen and done and the things she knows and ha learned.
A Country Garden is about gardening in the past and the present as well as protecting the environment for the future. It shares the story of a family, history and nature and how they all tie in to the garden. This book includes tips and advice for green and low maintenance gardening, landscaping and lawn care for anyone who is trying to use organic means instead of chemical-intensive methods.
Gwen Lutz began working in a garden center in 1986 and knew immediately that she had found the career path she wanted to follow. Her first employer was the local guru for lawn and garden problems, and what she learned from him as far as gardening is concerned has been truly invaluable to her. She also learned a great deal about commercial growing, nursery care, plants, larger-scale landscaping , and more. She works as an independent lawn-and-garden consultant and gives presentations for organizations and events. She writes for periodicals as well and some of these articles, thoughts, stories, and experiences are shared with readers through this book.
A Country Garden is not intended to be a manual or a reference book. It was written to tell readers and avid gardeners the story of not only the author’s life in and around the garden but that of the garden, the wildlife
that shares it and the land itself.
