Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Elects New Chairman of the Board
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has elected Dean Gwin as the 2014 Chairman of the Board. Gwin is President/COO of Gate Construction Materials Group headquartered in Jacksonville, FL.
“Gate Precast, and Dean Gwin, have played an active and vital role in PCI activities for many years,” said PCI President James G. Toscas, P.E. “We are honored to have Dean as our new chairman and know that he will continue his strong support of the Institute in this new leadership position.”
Gwin has been involved with PCI for nearly two decades. Prior to his appointment as Chairman, he has served as Vice Chair and Secretary/Treasurer of PCI’s Board of Directors. Currently, he is the PCI Lead in the PCI / NPCA Joint Task Group. His broad range of PCI Committee experience includes: PCI - Zone 6 (Director), Marketing Plans committee (Chairman), Financial Performance/Contracts, Budget Planning and Review Team committee, the Communications committee, the Architectural Precast Concrete committee, the Architectural Precast Manual Review committee and the Certification Fast Team.
Gwin also serves as a trustee for the PCI Foundation, a not-for-profit education and scientific association whose mission is to foster educational and research initiatives focused on innovative approaches to the integrated and sustainable use of precast concrete design, fabrication, and construction.
Gwin has served as President/COO of Gate Construction Materials Group for nearly six years. With eight manufacturing facilities and a strong market presence in twenty six states, Gate Precast, has become a leader in design-assist and manufacture of architectural and structural precast concrete systems. Gwin earned a marketing degree from Troy University.
Gwin is honored to serve as Chairman for 2014. “My predecessors’ have laid the groundwork for my term as chairman. Through their forward thinking and commitment to our industry during some tough economic years, PCI is well-positioned for growth in 2014,” Gwin said.
