Hansel Volkswagen Highlights the 2018 Atlas for Local Families
2018 Volkswagen Atlas optimized for space and safety.
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hansel Volkswagen is raising community awareness of the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas as an option for Santa Rosa families in need of a larger vehicle. Making its debut for the 2018 model year, this SUV seats up to seven passengers. The Atlas joins the Tiguan as Volkswagen's second SUV offering.
In terms of safety, the 2018 Atlas was designed to dampen and redirect damage in the event of a collision. The frame of the vehicle is built with steel panels reinforcing key areas to enhance durability. Front and rear crumple zones absorb and deflect crash energy away from vehicle occupants. Standard safety features include turn signal mirrors, daytime running lights, an engine immobilizer, a pre-collision safety system, traction control, a remote anti-theft alarm system, child seat anchors and LED headlamps.
With an interior volume of 153.7 cubic feet, the 2018 Atlas' cabin was designed with storage space and passenger comfort in mind. The second row was made to accommodate three standard-size child safety seats. Various bins and pockets are located throughout the vehicle for small-item storage, including 17 cupholders.
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is available in five trim levels: S, SE, SE w/technology, SEL and SEL Premium. Drivers can choose between two engine options. The S, SE, SE w/technology and SEL trims come equipped with a four-cylinder engine producing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A V-6 engine which outputs 276 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque comes standard in the SEL Premium trim and is available as an option for the other trims.
