So many families are just one paycheck away from having to choose between rent, heat or food. We want to help make sure that as many people as need food this winter are able to find it at Community Link.
Haslet, TX (PRWEB) January 12, 2016
Serving families of northern Ft. Worth and Dallas, Dixon Insurance celebrates the beginning of a new charity campaign as part of its ongoing community involvement program, now raising funds to help keep bellies full this winter. Community Link Mission serves thousands of people who would otherwise go hungry, and the agency urges others to join their fundraising efforts by contributing through the designated donations page at http://communitylinkmission.org/donate-2/.
Community Link Mission was established in 2005 as a way of combining efforts to effectively fight hunger in local communities. Up to that time, many area churches had been operating their own individual food pantries. After meeting to discuss the issue, nonprofit Community Link Mission was established to combine and consolidate their efforts. Compassionate volunteers work to fulfill the motto of ‘Serving our community through love and kindness’, by offering food and hope to over 20,000 hungry people every year. Winter brings new challenges to the area’s hungry families, and constant fundraising is necessary to provide food for all of those who would otherwise go to bed hungry.
“We are very excited to partner with Community Link Mission,” assured Lori Dixon, owner of Dixon Insurance. “So many families are just one paycheck away from having to choose between rent, heat or food. We want to help make sure that as many people as need food this winter are able to find it at Community Link. After all, neighbors helping neighbors is what we’re all about here.”
Already hard at work spreading the word about their campaign for Community Link, Dixon Insurance has set a fundraising goal of $500, and the agency itself has pledged to donate $10 for each and every referral they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary. The team is also reaching out to it’s network of customers, business partners, friends, family and neighbors and asking them to participate not only by contributing financially, but also by forwarding information about the campaign to others in their own circles of influence: http://dixon-insurance.net/Fighting-Hunger-Feeding-Hope_18_community_cause.
Dixon Insurance features the drive for Community Link Mission in the current issue of their monthly magazine, which is delivered to thousands of households in the north Ft. Worth/Dallas area. The electronic Flipbook version of Our Hometown magazine may be accessed here: http://dixon-insurance.net/Our-Hometown-Magazine_39.
The agency will continue to work with individuals and nonprofits in the area to identify worthwhile opportunities to support the community every two to three months. Concerned community members are invited to submit information on groups, families or individuals who would benefit from a helping hand here: http://dixon-insurance.net/Add-Community-Cause_54. Selected submissions will be contacted by a representative of Dixon Insurance’s Community Program.
