– Author Hassan B. Jallow discusses how to ensure effective prosecution in order to combat impunity and attain accountability for mass international crimes in his new book, “Prosecuting International Crimes: Recollections and Reflections” (published by Lulu).
Jallow reviews the practical challenges and various aspects of the investigation and prosecution of international crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Much of the context of the book is in the Rwanda genocide of 1994. He also highlights good practices he is familiar with which have been developed to meet the challenges.
“This book was inspired by my experience in prosecuting mass crimes in Rwanda, Sierra Leone and the former Yugoslavia and the desire to share the same with practitioners and decision makers concerned with combating impunity and promoting accountability,” Jallow says. “Prosecuting International Crimes: Recollections and Reflections” is available for purchase at: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/prosecuting-international-crimes-hassan-b-jallow/1131981692.
