What happens when a man finds himself a random target of a notorious psychopath? Author Henry C. Hill offers readers a heart-pounding read that will keep them at the edge of their seats with his new publication, “Matt Bishop: Bushwhacked.” Matt was born with a gift that he has had to use to stay alive. Despite this he decides to live as normally as he could – but it was a vain wish: soon enough, he finds himself on the ground with a bullet in his chest and a psychopath standing over him aiming a .45 at his head, slowly pulling back on the hammer.

Though Matt’s life was one of hardship (aggravated by the loss of his parents and friends in an Indian attack when he was seven) from a very young age, he not only overcome impossible odds, but became an exemplary person in the process. This process included his going through being a hard-working ranch hand; finding true love with a wonderful girl; and being in some big, memorable fights, even shootouts, with bad guys.

Part of this book’s appeal is in its wide range of colorful characters, from the worst-of-the-worst to the best-of-the-best. Another is its fast-moving action-filled narrative: fighting, deadly shoot-outs against bad guys, the classic stuff of Western fiction. Henry C. Hill also injects the unique element of humor into this book, a way to bolster righteousness and goodness in his part of the Western world. The virtues of helpfulness and heroism are demonstrated by the character’s ever ready willingness to help those who cannot help themselves.

“Matt Bishop” is set in southwest Texas in the late 1860s, a tough era in a tough land with people to match. Danger came in all forms –nature, Indians, evil men, and desperate circumstances – yet the good of people of this part of the country showed themselves more than capable of overcoming those dangers at every turn. Matt Bishop’s story is classic in its vivid portrayal of American pioneers surviving long enough to prosper and be free in the West.

About the Author
Henry C. Hill grew up on Utila, a tiny Caribbean island, with no phones or televisions but lots of horses and mules. Reading Westerns became a pastime that he thoroughly enjoyed. There, he met his childhood sweetheart who became his wife and inspiration. It is no wonder he filled his first book with cowboys, shootouts, bad guys, and a lovely lady for his main character to fall in love with. His second book, currently in the works, will show that not only men can be good gunfighters.
