On June 25, 2013, Dr. Patti Peeples, CEO and Founder of HealthEconomics.Com presented a successful Webinar entitled “Don't Forget the Payer in Your Digital Strategy: What Payers Need and Want from Pharma” on behalf of the Institute for International Research (IIR), providers of the popular ePharma Summit: Marketing in a Digital World, to be held September 16-18, 2013.
The webinar provided tools to prepare a forward-thinking, sophisticated, and complete digital marketing strategy to aid pharmaceutical marketers in identifying key stakeholders in the payer and managed markets arena, and assist with prioritizing the customer information needs. Methods to optimize pharmaceutical market access and reimbursement success were described, and a road map to efficiently and effectively integrate these customer groups into a pharma digital marketing mix was provided.
The webinar was highly successful, with more than 100 registrants participating. During the webinar, answers to poll questions suggested that payer digital promotion is indeed taking place by the pharmaceutical industry, but most respondents were anxious to increase digital spend and were struggling with some silo and medical legal regularity issues.
“While more than one-third of webinar participants cited a payer-directed digital marketing strategy, only 16% said they were confident that their organization had a good understanding of the digital needs of this customer group.
