With nearly 1,800 posts, the Health Populi blog commemorates a decade of social media leadership by Jane Sarasohn-Kahn. Jane, a health economist, advisor and trend-weaver supporting organizations at the intersection of health, technology and people, has been the blog’s sole author from its inception.

Her independent voice has been recognized as a Top Influencer in HealthTech, One of the Top 100 Influential Economists in the World, One of the Top 100 Influencers and Brands in Digital Health, One of the Top 5 Women in Healthcare Blogs, and One of Ten Twitter Profiles of Public Health Advocates, among other kudos.

"Health Populi is the best read in health care. One topic. One clear explanation, every day, from an expert with a great heart," noted Matthew Holt, Co-Chairman of Health 2.0. Matthew, a pioneer in social media for health care, first inspired Jane to start-up Health Populi, having founded The Health Care Blog in 2003.

Health Populi has never accepted advertising and has retained Jane’s unique insights based on over 30 years of working with clients across the health/care ecosystem in the U.S. and Europe. As of the tenth anniversary column published on September 5, 2017, there were 1,791 posts on the site, searchable by over 160 categories from “A” (“Affordable Care Act”) to “Y” (“Yoga”).

The first Health Populi post written in September 2007 was titled, “Health Care is the #1 Line item in our National Economy…and Taking More out of your Pocket.” Since then, Jane has been keenly forecasting the growing role of healthcare consumers empowered through digital health tools, financial incentives, and social networking. Ten years later, Jane will continue to focus Health Populi on helping healthcare drive more value, quality, and user experience for all health citizens.
