Stone Hill Winery's 2011 Estate Bottled Norton Makes History
Hermann, MO (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 -- Minutes ago, Missouri Wine announced the results of the 2013 Missouri Wine Competition and Stone Hill Winery cleaned house.
Stone Hill Winery's 2011 Estate Bottled Norton drained a "tri-fecta" from the hill where Stone Hill sits overlooking beautiful Hermann, Missouri.
Stone Hill's 2011 Estate Bottled Norton received Best of Class Dry Red, C.V. Riley award for Best Norton, the top award for Missouri’s best wine of the year, and The Governor’s Cup.
Winning both the C.V. Riley award and The Governor's Cup, Stone Hill Winery becomes the first to ever receive both awards in the same year, marking yet another historical milestone this year after bottling their 2 millionth case of wine earlier this month.
In Missouri Wine's announcement, their comment about Stone Hill's 2011 Estate Bottled Norton was, "What a wine!"
During the course of the two-day competition, a panel of nine expert wine judges from around the country and one industry judge determined through blind tasting which wines are good, great, and the best.
A total of 306 wines were entered this year from 37 different Missouri wineries. The judges named 39 gold medals, 102 silver medals, and 103 bronze medals in addition to the top awards of Best of Class, C.V. Riley, and the Governor’s Cup.
