E-recording is quick, efficient and easy to do. It reduces the gap immensely, which makes our title insurance underwriters very happy.
HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. (PRWEB) April 17, 2014
Two more Florida counties, Citrus and Hernando, have implemented electronic recording (e-recording) of land record documents with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing a faster, more cost-effective recording option for customers.
With e-recording now available in these counties, customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, lien filers, and others who submit documents to the clerk of court’s office for recording can now do so electronically, saving time and money on mailing expenses.
Southeast Title, a local title company with offices in Spring Hill and New Port Richey, successfully recorded the first electronic document in Hernando County this week using Simplifile’s web-based recording service.
“E-recording is quick, efficient and easy to do. It reduces the gap immensely, which makes our title insurance underwriters very happy. We were proud to be the first submitter in the nation to e-record a document with the Hernando County Clerk of Court,” said Dan Holback, licensed title agent with Southeast Title.
Documents submitted for e-recording through Simplifile can be received, reviewed, stamped, recorded, and returned back to the submitter in minutes, a significantly faster turnaround time compared to sending paper documents by mail, runner or courier service.
Check-writing expenses, payment errors, and rejected documents also decrease with e-recording, as recording fees and documents are more accurately and securely processed electronically.
With the addition of e-recording in Hernando and Citrus counties, there are now 40 e-recording counties in Florida that have implemented Simplifile’s service, and Simplifile is currently the only e-recording vendor that customers can submit documents through in the Citrus-Hernando-Pasco tri-county area.
