Market Intelligence Leader, HG Data, Names Veteran Media Strategy Executive John Connell Vice President of Digital Strategy

John’s thought leadership and ecosystem expertise with all things related to B2B performance-driven marketing platforms will help HG Data quickly emerge as the de-facto leader at the intersection of ABM and digital marketing.

HG Data, the leader in B2B market intelligence for sales, marketing, and analytics, today announced the appointment of John Connell to the newly created position of vice president of digital strategy. In this role, Connell will accelerate HG Data’s digital marketing offering, HG Audience, which enables companies of all sizes to identify, analyze, segment, and target prospective customers while enhancing their digital marketing and advertising efforts, including programmatic media, demand generation, and audience segmentation strategies.

Prior to HG Data, Connell spent five years as a key executive in various capacities at performance marketing technology leader QuinStreet, joining the business following QuinStreet’s acquisition of IT Business Edge in 2011. Most recently, Connell was vice president and general manager responsible for the company’s extensive B2B division, overseeing a network of over 50 media properties, including eWeek, Developer.com, and CIO Insight.

Previously, Connell managed product development for IAC/InterActiveCorp, where he significantly improved customer retention and subscription revenue for Match.com. Prior to this, Connell held various management positions at CNET Networks - currently CBS Interactive - following Gartner’s sale of TechRepublic.
