Mark Tucker Insurance Combats Child Abuse with New Fundraiser for the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton Country

Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County (CACDC) is a nonprofit organization which serves children who have been victims of sexual or physical abuse. They coordinate with law enforcement, child protective services and medical and mental health professionals to help children and their non-offending family members find healing, and seek justice by holding offenders accountable. CACDC also offers free training and community outreach programs designed to help people learn to recognize and react responsibility to child abuse. Handling the abuse of children in non-traumatizing ways is critical, as a recent study found some staggering statistics – childhood abuse increases the odds of future delinquency and adult criminality by 40%, and children who grow up in violent homes are 6 times more likely to commit suicide and 50 times more likely to abuse drugs or alcohol.
