Main Street Dental Team (http://www.MainStreetDentalTeam.com), Unionville’s first full-time dental clinic, is pleased to announce upcoming highlights for the 44th annual Unionville Festival, taking place June 6–8 on Main Street in Unionville.
“Everyone in Unionville benefits from a strong local economy and thriving community. As Unionville’s first full-time dental clinic, we have been privileged to be a part of the Unionville community since 1967,” says Dr. Harvey Schwartz, owner of Main Street Dental Team. “We have fond memories of the first Unionville Festival in 1970 and have watched it grow in popularity over the years.”
The Unionville Festival has been part of the community since 1970. Playing host to more than 50,000 visitors each year, the Unionville Festival takes place on the first weekend in June; over those three days, Main Street Unionville comes alive with music, people, and unique shopping opportunities.
Dr. Schwartz explains that there’s something for everybody at this year’s Unionville Festival. Highlights of Friday night include PechaKucha Night at the Varley Art Gallery, a chance for designers to meet and share their work. On Saturday, there’s the Festival Parade, which begins at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street, as well as York-Durham Heritage train rides, Pondapalooza, market vendors, the Fun Zone, Brews ‘n’ Tunes in Cosby Park, and fireworks at dusk.
Sunday kicks off with a five-kilometre run/walk at 8:30 a.m. and a two-kilometre family walk at 9:30 a.m., followed by Family Day in Crosby Park, a treasure hunt, Main Street Arts, circus performers, trapeze artists, a dog and bird show, and free admission to the Varley Art Gallery. The festival closes that evening with Caribbean music courtesy of the Silhouettes Steelband.
“The annual Unionville Festival is not just the perfect way to spend the first weekend in June; it also provides visitors an incredible opportunity to engage the community, discover what makes Unionville so special, and explore the local shops, restaurants, and businesses,” Dr. Schwartz concludes. “We encourage everyone to come to the Unionville Festival, celebrate the community, and drop by Main Street Dental and say hello.”
