MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C., April 16, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Joseph Franklyn McEloy, founder and CEO of Galileo TechMedia, and owner of the Meadowlark Motel Resort in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, today announced a new division to his business operation effective May 3, 2021.
McElroy stated, "The Meadowlark Motel has been a long-time destination location in Maggie Valley that my family has owned for generations. We have constantly strived to better serve our guests and enrich their vacation experience in the Great Smokies. Our Motel management team has done an outstanding job surviving the pandemic while upgrading our facility and adding various forms of entertainment and other services to the resort. And they will continue to do so.
However, we wanted to add an entirely separate segment of our business –The Meadowlark Smoky Mountain Heritage Center, with Bob Plott as General Manager. We feel strongly that this will further enhance what our resort has to offer, while offering entertaining and educational heritage related programs activities and events that will not only bring visitors to the region, but will perpetuate the great legacy of Smoky Mountain history, music and folkways. I first met Bob during a podcast he did with us, and after several subsequent meetings he shared his vision for this project. It's a vision that I wholeheartedly share and endorse, and combined with some additional ideas of my own, I am confident we will be successful. I think Bob is the perfect person for the job and we are excited to have him join our team."
Bob Plott added, "As a lifelong native of North Carolina whose family has been in the region more than 200 years, I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this project. I see this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to do something I have wanted to do for decades, but had never found the right partner until now. Joseph and I share a common vision in honoring and preserving Appalachian heritage and culture by educating and entertaining both visitors and locals in offering them memorable entertaining and immersive program and event options. I can't wait to get started and I thank Joseph for this great opportunity! We will have some big announcements that we will be sharing with you soon."
