Cigar Advisor Publishes Article on The History Of American Tobacco
Easton, PA (PRWEB) December 29, 2013 -- The all-new Cigar Advisor Magazine is an online cigar magazine that brings a fresh, irreverent, and down-to-earth perspective on all things cigars to thousands of smokers. In addition to educational cigar content and behind-the-scenes cigar industry articles from some of the business’s top names, Cigar Advisor delivers an array of content about a variety of topics of interest to people who enjoy the cigar lifestyle. The magazine also features cigar reviews and ratings submitted by real smokers. Cigar Advisor Magazine has just released an article in its December issue, entitled "The History of American Tobacco,” by Cigar Advisor Copywriter Jonathan Detore.
In Jonathan’s piece, he discusses the rise of the tobacco industry in the United States dating back to the colonial times under British rule and the eventual fall citing specific causes for the ruination. Jonathan writes “In 1905 there were 80,000 cigar manufacturers in the U.S. and in 1965, the modern peak of American cigar production, there were 9.2 billion cigars made domestically. Compare that to 1990, when fewer than 2 billion cigars were made domestically. The question remains: why did American tobacco fall out of favor among cigar makers?”
He also raises the question as to what will happen to the tobacco industry in America in the future, raising points that there may be an increasing trend for the use of American tobacco in cigar manufacturing. “Fear not, cigar-loving patriots - the use of U.S. tobacco has been steadily on the rise as we can see from the modern use of tobaccos grown in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee, and the continued use of Connecticut shade-grown tobaccos. Of course not all of these are grown for cigar use - much of it finds its way into pipe and cigarette tobacco. We also see a trend in the use of American grown fire-cured tobaccos with cigars like the Drew Estate's recently-released Kentucky Fire Cured cigar.
