The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Named Official Charity of Ragnar Relay Cape Cod
Ashford, Conn. (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- Ragnar Relay Cape Cod presented by New Balance has named The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp as the official charity of the 2015 race taking place May 8 – 9, 2015.
Runner’s joining Team Hole in the Wall, Camp’s fundraising team, will support the Camp, which provides “a different kind of healing” to seriously ill children and their families through a variety of year-round programming. All of the Camp’s services are free of charge.
“The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is thrilled to be the feature charity of Ragnar Cape Cod,” said Ray Shedd, Senior Development Officer, “Ragnar’s mantra of connect, conquer, celebrate resonates deeply with everyone here at Camp and is a perfect fit with our mission and how we seek to connect with active people through our Team Hole in the Wall community.”
Ragnar Relay Cape Cod is part of a series of athletic and other events available through Team Hole in the Wall, which provides participants the opportunity to raise funds for a variety of Camp programs, including the signature summer program. Team runners receive free race entry and a VIP Ragnar experience that includes exclusive incentives and gear, and commit to raising a minimum of $500 for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Team fundraising totals above $3,000 for a team of six and $6,000 for a team of 12 will cover each team member’s individual commitment, though every team is challenged to collectively send as many kids to Camp as possible. The cost to provide a week-long healing experience at Camp for one seriously ill child is $2,500.
Runners join Team Hole in the Wall as a Team Captain or as a Team Member. Team Captains use the incredible support resources provided by Ragnar Relay and Team Hole in the Wall to recruit a total of six or 12 runners to participate in the race. Team members who are not associated with a team can join and be assigned to one.
The Ragnar Relay Cape Cod presented by New Balance takes place across 200 miles from Hull to Provincetown, Mass, running past iconic white sand beaches, dunes and breathtaking coastal views. Runners pile into two vans and tag team running, day and night, relay-style. Only one runner hits the road at a time. Each participant runs three times, with each leg ranging between 3-8 miles and varying in difficulty.
