Holiday Event At The Blanden Art Museum Celebrates The Season With Art, Music, Featured Artists And Holiday Food And Refreshments
Fort Dodge, IA (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- The Blanden Art Museum is celebrating the season with the Holiday Event at the Blanden on Saturday, December 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The public is invited to attend this free festive gathering to enjoy art, holiday music, food and refreshments.
Holiday splendor will greet the guests as they enjoy featured musicians Shelby Janssen, the Violin Group from the McSweeney School of Music and the King Ringers as they perform throughout the evening. Seasonal favorites will be served by The Community Orchard, Creative Cakes and Hy-Vee along with refreshments and wines from Soldier Creek Winery.
“The Blanden Art Museum is a treasure to have here in Fort Dodge and The Community Orchard is thrilled to be able to have some of our holiday favorites for their guests to enjoy during this event,” says Bev Baedke, owner of The Community Orchard.
Art work created in the holiday spirit will be on display by regional artists Laurel Mors, Lee Husske, Diane O'Hern, Rusty Farrington, Carrie Dunbar, Gary Winch, David Weiss, Madeleine Thoma, Pam Sanders and Bill Keenan. A Silent Auction of the items will benefit the Blanden's Art Education program.
Built in 1932, The Blanden Art Museum is located in Oak Hill Historic District in Fort Dodge, IA. The Blanden Art Museum has a diverse permanent collection, educational programs and classes, special events and major exhibitions. It was the first private art museum in the State of Iowa and is recognized worldwide for its exhibits and building architecture.
