Compass Homes has partnered with the ELM Foundation to provide building services for free or at a reduced cost. The homes will be sold at market value to benefit the organization.

Our community has been so supportive of us, so this is a great way for us to give back. We’re proud to be part of the first project of this kind in Alabama.

Compass Homes held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 10 to celebrate the start of construction on a home for The ELM Foundation. The homebuilder has partnered with the non-profit to build the first Homes for ELM project in Alabama.

The ELM (Expect Little Miracles) Foundation, a faith-based organization that helps struggling families become self-sufficient, works with subcontractors through the Homes for ELM program to build homes which are later sold at full market value to benefit The ELM Foundation. The subcontractors usually donate their services or provide them at a reduced cost in order to maximize the non-profit’s proceeds from the sale.

“We’re thrilled to be building this home for The ELM Foundation,” said Ryan Lindow, CEO of Compass Homes. “Our community has been so supportive of us, so this is a great way for us to give back. We’re proud to be part of the first project of this kind in Alabama.”

The ELM Foundation promotes self-sufficiency by giving struggling families in Alabama the tools and resources needed to get back on their feet. Families work with the foundation to increase their earnings so they pay their bills on time and save for the future while paying it forward through volunteerism and stewardship.
