Local Cross Fit Gym Partners with Nonprofit, Hope For The Warriors
FAIRFAX, VA (PRWEB) March 08, 2014 -- CrossFit Merrifield, a new training facility in Fairfax, VA, has partnered with Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit with headquarters in Annandale. Gym owners Thomas Tomlo and Jeff Shipman will utilize their significant personal training and CrossFit coaching experience to work with wounded service members and veterans. Service members and veterans will be referred to CrossFit Merrifield by Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.

The mission of CrossFit Merrifield is to build a supportive and progressive fitness community to athletes of all levels, abilities and ages. Each program, including CrossFit, is accessible to all levels and members are provided a Progressive Training Model that will accelerate and maintain physical fitness at any level.
Hope For The Warriors® will identify service members who would benefit from both the physical fitness as well as strong fitness community at CrossFit Merrifield. Regardless of ability or injury, veterans will have the opportunity to participate in a full range of programs and classes offered at the gym.

CrossFit Merrifield will celebrate this partnership and its own Grand Opening on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 6:30 PM. The evening will include guest speakers, food, and plenty of time to socialize, tour the facilities and learn more about this unique partnership and project. Members of Hope For The Warriors® staff, Team Hope For The Warriors®, service members, and Veterans will attend. The event will also include the prerace dinner for the members of Team Hope For The Warriors® who are participating in the Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, March 15.
