Building a foundation of strength both physical and through our community is the blueprint to our mission. The opportunity to serve our heroes and build this team with them is an honor.

FAIRFAX, VA (PRWEB) March 08, 2014

CrossFit Merrifield, a new training facility in Fairfax, VA, has partnered with Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit with headquarters in Annandale. Gym owners Thomas Tomlo and Jeff Shipman will utilize their significant personal training and CrossFit coaching experience to work with wounded service members and veterans. Service members and veterans will be referred to CrossFit Merrifield by Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.

“Developing a strong, empowering community is what we are committed to here,” Thomas Tomlo, Co-founder of CrossFit Merrifield said. “Building a foundation of strength both physical and through our community is the blueprint to our mission. The opportunity to serve our heroes and build this team with them is an honor.”

The mission of CrossFit Merrifield is to build a supportive and progressive fitness community to athletes of all levels, abilities and ages. Each program, including CrossFit, is accessible to all levels and members are provided a Progressive Training Model that will accelerate and maintain physical fitness at any level.

Hope For The Warriors® will identify service members who would benefit from both the physical fitness as well as strong fitness community at CrossFit Merrifield. Regardless of ability or injury, veterans will have the opportunity to participate in a full range of programs and classes offered at the gym.

“Veterans will benefit physically from the workouts but that is really just the beginning,” Steve Bartomioli, Director of Team Hope For The Warriors® said. “Each of our programs within Hope For The Warriors® focuses on building a community for veterans and their families. CrossFit Merrifield’s focus on the athletic community is a perfect fit.”

CrossFit Merrifield will celebrate this partnership and its own Grand Opening on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 6:30 PM. The evening will include guest speakers, food, and plenty of time to socialize, tour the facilities and learn more about this unique partnership and project.
