IMCA to Present Donation to Hope For The Warriors
Boone, IA (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals, presented by Casey’s General Stores, will kick off on September 1, 2014 at the IMCA Speedway in Boone, Iowa. On Saturday, September 6, the pre-race ceremony will include a check presentation to Hope For The Warriors® (http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org). Hope For The Warriors® is a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
At the start of the racing season, IMCA and Casey’s General Stores announced their plan to support the national nonprofit. Each heat race winner at this event displaying a Hope For The Warriors® and a Casey’s General Store decal on their race car would enter the “Hope For The Warriors® Victory Lane,” earning a $20 Casey's gift card and ensuring a $20 donation to Hope For The Warriors®. Throughout the Super Nationals event, nearly 900 drivers will compete in 250 heat races. IMCA and Casey’s General Stores are both longtime supporters of Hope For The Warriors®.
"IMCA is proud to partner with Casey's General Stores to support Hope For The Warriors® through our heat winner program,” Kevin Yoder, IMCA Marketing Director said. “I've witnessed the benefits of their support of wounded military veterans first-hand and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the cause."
Travis Hanson, Director of Sports & Recreation for Hope For The Warriors® will be in Boone to accept the donation. Hanson is a retired Marine with more than 22 years of service as well as a stock car driver.
“Hope For The Warriors® is thankful to IMCA for their support to our organization and to our military families,” Hanson said. “The racing community—both the drivers and the fans—understand fully the sacrifices made by our service members. Their support goes a long way in our efforts to restore self, family, and hope.”
