Hope for the Warriors Announces 2014 Run For The Warriors Race Schedule
Annandale, VA (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Hope For The Warriors® presents the 2014 schedule for their nationwide race series, the Run For The Warriors®. Between 10 – 13 races are being planned in cities across the country. Each race focuses on local service members, veterans and military families within that local community. Wounded service members and families of the fallen are honored in a ceremony before the race start. All funds raised will support Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
The first Run For The Warriors® was held aboard the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune on Armed Forces Day in May 2006. In keeping with tradition, this event begins with an opening ceremony honoring local wounded heroes and families of the fallen. It provides a time to remember those who have given of themselves in the line of duty.
“Today, veterans face new challenges as they deal with both physical and psychological injuries,” Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® president said. “We are thankful that communities across the country recognize both the honor in military service and the challenges face as veterans reintegrate.”
