The generosity and support from the attendees and sponsors was immense and will allow us to do great work in restoring hope for the service members and their families.
WALLACE, NC (PRWEB) October 18, 2013
Wounded service members, celebrities, sports legends and more enjoyed four days of golf and fun as part of the 4th Annual Scarlet & Gold Invitational that took place at the River Landing Country Club in Wallace, NC. Proceeds from the four-day event totaled more than $130,000 and will benefit Hope For The Warriors® (http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org), a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
This donation came in addition to a donation of more than $314,000 from Food Lion’s annual Thriller on the Griller event that took place over the summer to raise money and awareness for service members and their families. Food Lion is one of the sponsors of the Scarlet & Gold and they presented their donation to Hope For The Warriors® at the opening night’s Gala.
The 4th Annual Scarlet & Gold Invitational was one of both tribute to our nation’s military heroes, and entertainment with celebrities and former athletes from the NBA, NFL and MLB. Along with golf, the celebrities also enjoyed a tour of nearby Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
Hope For The Warriors® thanks all sponsors which includes Food Lion, Pack Rat, River Landing, Wal-Mart, and Murphy Family Ventures, for making the event such a success. For a full list of sponsors, please visit http://www.riverlanding.com/scarletandgold.
