Celebrity Golf Invitational Raises More Than $130,000 for Hope For The Warriors
WALLACE, NC (PRWEB) October 18, 2013 -- Wounded service members, celebrities, sports legends and more enjoyed four days of golf and fun as part of the 4th Annual Scarlet & Gold Invitational that took place at the River Landing Country Club in Wallace, NC. Proceeds from the four-day event totaled more than $130,000 and will benefit Hope For The Warriors® (http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org), a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty.
This donation came in addition to a donation of more than $314,000 from Food Lion’s annual Thriller on the Griller event that took place over the summer to raise money and awareness for service members and their families. Food Lion is one of the sponsors of the Scarlet & Gold and they presented their donation to Hope For The Warriors® at the opening night’s Gala.
The 4th Annual Scarlet & Gold Invitational was one of both tribute to our nation’s military heroes, and entertainment with celebrities and former athletes from the NBA, NFL and MLB. Along with golf, the celebrities also enjoyed a tour of nearby Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
