Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 16, 2013 -- UHC and AVIA announced Kit Check as one of five finalists for its 2013 Start-up Challenge: Innovation Delivered award. Each finalist will present its healthcare solution to a panel of judges and an audience of health care professionals at the UHC Annual Conference 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. Voting by the judges and audience will be tallied in real-time at the conference to determine the winner.
“It is a great honor for Kit Check to be recognized as a finalist by UHC and AVIA. I also see it as recognition for the hospital pharmacy. The technology needs of hospital pharmacists have been overshadowed by other initiatives for many years. Kit Check is completely focused on helping hospital pharmacies leverage technology to improve operational efficiency, medication visibility and patient safety. With this announcement, we are particularly happy to see such a renowned organization as UHC singling out pharmacy solutions for award nomination,” commented Kit Check CEO Kevin MacDonald.
"We were very impressed with Kit Check’s dedication to improving patient medication safety through its RFID solution,” said Eric Langshur, CEO of AVIA. “AVIA and UHC are pleased to showcase this important technology in front of UHC members given its potential to improve operating efficiencies. We’re looking forward to seeing Kit Check take the stage at Pulse."
Presentations will be made between 8:00 – 9:45 am on Friday October 18, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA. The event is restricted to UHC members.
