Master Gemologist Appraiser David S. Bowie Advises on Diamond Purchase
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 30, 2013 -- “Many hopeless romantics decide to propose to their loved ones on Christmas Eve, but very few of them know how to choose a diamond,” says David Bowie, president and CEO of North American Diamond Brokers.
“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend” as we all learned that and now with the help of GG, GJ (GIA) Master Gemologist Appraiser® David Bowie, we will find out that size is not the only thing that matters when you buy a diamond engagement ring.
“You probably all heard about the 4C’s when it comes to a diamond, well those C’s are to consider closely when you want the perfect diamond,” explains Mr. Bowie. “And I like to add the fifth C, which is c from certification because certified diamonds are a clean business.”
When choosing a diamond it all comes down to the 4 C’s: cut, clarity, color and carat weight. Diamond cut is a very important aspect to consider when purchasing a diamond because this determines your gemstone’s brilliance. Diamond color is graded from D to Z; the closer to D is your diamond’s color, D being colorless, the better it is. Clarity the third C refers to the absence of greater imperfections inside the diamond called inclusions. Carat weight refers to the measure of the diamond’s weight.
In the opinion of David Bowie, if you are content with all four C’s of the chosen diamond and that diamond has a GIA or AGSL certification you will certainly make a great deal.
