Lumeta Delivers Network Situational Awareness with HP ArcSight Connectivity
Somerset, NJ (PRWEB) April 07, 2014 -- Lumeta Corporation, the leader in network situational awareness, today announced the interoperability of the Lumeta product suite with the https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CEQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fhttp://www..hp.com%2Fus%2Fen%2Fsoftware-solutions%2Fsiem-arcsight%2F&ei=3OAUU-K9C5TCyAH3loCoBg&usg=AFQjCNGSfADY3X-DRBX4TIqIhwZNFavoGg&bvm=bv.61965928,d.dm [HP ArcSight __title__ HP ArcSight] security information and event management (SIEM) platform. Both Lumeta IPsonar and Lumeta ESI will provide network infrastructure and device connectivity events (including network leaks) to HP ArcSight as they occur, adding to the richness of the security analytics and enabling a more comprehensive view of the network.
Lumeta has established interoperability and achieved certification with the HP ArcSight platform through building a Common Event Format (CEF) connector. HP tests and certifies connectors through the HP Enterprise Security Products Technology Alliance Program. A CEF Certified connector for HP ArcSight is tested to ensure that event information is captured properly in CEF; Lumeta is the only listing in the http://h71028.http://www..hp.com/enterprise/downloads/software/HP%20ArcSight%20SmartConnectors%20Supported%20Products.pdf [Network Discovery category __title__ HP ArcSight CEF connector] of connectors.
“In adopting CEF to allow for seamless interoperability with HP ArcSight, Lumeta is enabling our customers to take an integrated approach to security, beginning with foundational network intelligence and using SIEM to stay ahead of new threats ,” said Matt Webster, chief technology officer of Lumeta.
Lumeta provides foundational intelligence regarding comprehensive visibility into network connections, equipment and end user devices on a network, in real time, including discovery of leaks and the changing network edge. The information and alerts uncovered by Lumeta IPsonar and Lumeta ESI are fed into HP ArcSight, where the SIEM platform can correlate the events with information collected from firewalls, VPN gateways, Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System (IDS/IPS) systems and other devices.
HP ArcSight provides a central repository from which an organization can monitor its information technology (IT) infrastructure and accelerate the detection of threats and vulnerabilities. It takes in an amalgam of events from internal and external network sources, including Lumeta, and analyzes the information in order to flag anomalies, detect breaches, and spot trends and patterns that might represent security risk.
“With the ever-evolving threat landscape, organizations need the ability to monitor and analyze all activity happening across the network for immediate and effective remediation,” commented Frank Mong, vice president and general manager, Security Solutions, Enterprise Security Products, HP. “Working with partners like Lumeta that bring advanced discovery capabilities, HP ArcSight can leverage a more comprehensive view of the network and provide customers with actionable security intelligence to further mitigate risk.”
The adoption of SIEM solutions has largely been driven by compliance with industry regulations, such as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), and concerns over advanced persistent threats (APT).
