Lafayette, CA (PRWEB) May 04, 2017
HSTpathways (HST) announced today that Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA) has chosen HSTpathways’ cloud-hosted, ambulatory surgery center (ASC) software to support its ambulatory surgical services facilities. SCA operates more than 200 surgical facilities, including ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals, in partnership with more than 3,000 physicians.
“We want to provide our affiliated facilities with best-in-class technology products to support efficient and scalable operations,” said Lachlan Tidmarsh, Chief Information Officer at SCA. “We see HSTpathways as the anchor of that technology tool set.”
HSTpathways is the leading provider of cloud-based, ambulatory surgery center management software in the U.S. HSTpathways’ application suite supports surgical scheduling, inventory management, EHR clinical workflows, medical coding, insurance and patient billing, and accounts receivable collections for freestanding ambulatory surgery centers, multi-facility corporate enterprises, and ASC-hospital joint ventures.
About one-third of SCA’s facilities already use HSTpathways. Based on the experience of those facilities, SCA is eager to deploy the cloud-hosted software across the rest of their facilities, said Tidmarsh.
“HSTpathways has incredibly deep experience in the ASC industry. They know how surgical centers work, they understand ASC processes, and they have applied that to their product,” he said. “Built-in workflow efficiencies support successful revenue cycle operations.”
Caitlin Zulla, Chief Administrative Officer at SCA, said that besides being effective, the software is also intuitive to use. “Our business office teammates have found it to be easy to learn.”
HSTpathways collaborated with SCA to customize the data fields that populate SCA’s Enterprise Data Mart. “HSTpathways has been a great partner in ensuring that we optimize data collections so we can build out our analytics to support our overall enterprise revenue cycle goals,” said Zulla. “It has been a real pleasure to work with the HSTpathways management team and have candid conversations about what matters to us, what our business goals are, and what efficiencies and scale we are trying to drive. HSTpathways really listened to us, and they have incorporated our vision into future roadmaps of the product.”
SCA deliberately selected HSTpathways’ hosted product to minimize upgrading, hosting and storage costs at affiliated centers. “The cloud-based version of the product reduces the administrative burden and maintenance impact on our facilities,” said Tidmarsh.
Tara Vail, Chief Operations Officer at HSTpathways, said, “SCA has been a great client to work with over the years. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and helping them achieve their strategic operational and financial objectives to decrease their IT costs and increase revenue cycle efficiencies across their enterprise.”
