New Novella Shows Thugs Standing Behind ‘The Pulpit’
Riverside, Calif. (PRWEB) April 01, 2015 -- Three young men find out the cost of impersonating holy men in the new novella “The Pulpit” (published by Trafford Publishing), by Humphrey L. Moore.
Three friends – Bryan, Keith and Matthew – were raised in church, but have since turned to a life of street hustling. Now, working with the Mexican drug cartel, the three young men decide to open three churches as a front to launder money for the cartel. They falsify their religious credentials and even copy the sermons of TV evangelists. Their churches grow faster than they anticipated.
The flamboyant lifestyle they lead along with the street mentality they bring into the church catches the eye of the cartel, who decides these three are more trouble than they’re worth. Now, Bryan, Keith and Matthew will have to face the cartel while trying to deal with the demons they have created within themselves.
An excerpt from “The Pulpit”:
“Everyone in the congregation including children were on their feet, shouting, ‘WE’RE STILL STANDING! WE’RE STILL STANDING! WE’RE STILL STANDING!’ Seven days later at 6:05 p.m. on April 4th (the same day and time Dr. King was assassinated) over one hundred thousand people showed up. African American men, women, and children wearing T-shirts with the slogan ‘We’re still standing.’”
