Lankford & Battle Insurance Agency Joins the Food Bank of North Alabama in Unified Charity Event to Provide Meals to Hungry Families

Lankford & Battle Insurance Agency, a Madison-based insurance and financial planning firm with offices serving the greater Huntsville metropolitan area, is launching a joint charity drive with the Food Bank of North Alabama in an effort to fight the growing problem of hunger facing many Alabama residents.

Recent reports show that nearly 20% of the population of Alabama is food insecure; this means that nearly a million people in the State are unsure of when they will receive their next meal. Since 1984, the Food Bank of North Alabama has worked to provide meals to hungry families and advocated for local food initiatives to improve food access throughout the region.

“Feeding families in our community is our first goal, and working to improve food access is our second – we’re working with the Food Bank of North Alabama to accomplish both,” says Carolyn Lankford proprietor and manager of Lankford & Battle Insurance Agency. The goal of the charity event will be to raise $500, which will purchase as many as 2,500 meals for hungry Alabamans.

In addition, the Lankford & Battle team is working to raise awareness about the problem of hunger in Alabama and gather support for the charity event by reaching out directly to nearby families and community leaders over social media and email.

As recent entrants into the “Agents of Change” nationwide charity involvement campaign, the Lankford & Battle Insurance team has committed to finding and working with another charity in the north Alabama region every other month.
