Huntington Fitness Center, Fit Body Boot Camp, Hosts NYC Marathon Fundraiser Event to Support the Charity Autism Speaks
Huntington, NY (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- Huntington personal trainer and owner of Fit Body Boot Camp Huntington will host a “Rockin’ to Run for Autism” fundraising event to support the charity Autism Speaks.
The event will be held on July 13th from 7pm to 10pm at the popular pub Napper Tandy’s located in Northport, NY. Participants will pay $35 and the event will include live music, games, raffles, and prizes as well as unlimited beer, wine, soda, and buffet.
Running in the NYC Marathon later this year for the team Autism Speaks, Fit Body Boot Camp owner Kathleen Tafti and friend Hope Purcell decided to host the “Rockin’ to Run for Autism” fundraising event to kick off their campaign to raise $6,000 for the charity. Any money raised beyond the initial $6,000 goal will be donated to a local Northpark foundation called Kid’s Plus, whose mission is to provide programs to children with special needs.
Fit Body Boot Camp owner Tafti says she chose to run in the NYC Marathon for the team Autism Speaks because her nephew is autistic and the condition has touched her life directly.
The Huntington fitness center is home to 150 members and many of them will be in attendance at the “Rockin’ to Run for Autism” fundraising event.
