Hydrocinch, LLC. Announces Publication of U.S. Patent Application for Innovative Kiteboarding Ratchet Harness Closure System
Unique Harness Increases Comfort and Adjustability for Kiteboarders - Across All Experience Levels, Gender, Age, Body Shape & Size
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hydrocinch LLC, an innovative design company of kiteboarding and sports accessories, today announced the publication of the company's U.S. patent application of the innovative Hydrocinch Harness System. Additionally, the company has filed an application with the Office of International Patent Cooperation Union.
Created for kite boarders, but applicable across wind sports such as sailing, wind surfing, land boarding and snow kiting, the Hydrocinch Harness Systems' unique design modifies the spreader bar geometry, replaces the traditional nylon webbing and ladder hook design with stainless steel ratchets and non-water absorbing strapping. When added to the new configuration it drastically reduces the spreader bar lift and pivot. This provides all day comfort and more time on the water. Additional benefits include:
- Single-handed operation; adjustable while riding and under kite load
- Repeatable fit that stays in place – and won't ride up
- Ambidextrous set-up; conforms to your body size and shape
"This is the first and only harness system I have used that doesn't ride up," shared Kabir Jaffe, Owner of the Villa Esencia Resort in Long Bay Beach on the Turks and Caicos Islands – a premier, global destination for kiteboarders. "The system is easy and fast to use. Our guests range from beginners to advanced kiters and this harness is uniquely designed to accommodate them all, in comfort."
Hydrocinch was founded by two friends, Corey Gerhart and Greg Marquardt, with a single mission, to make a better fitting harness that didn't loosen up.
As avid kiteboarders, they were frustrated with the limitations of commercial harnesses, and especially discouraged when kiting sessions ended early because of discomfort and spreader bar ride up. Together they applied their expertise into building better gear that is designed and tailored to all levels of kiters.
The result? Secured and connected to all day comfort- without limits.
"I'm excited to be able to apply my experience in design and engineering to improve the most personal piece of equipment in a sport that I'm the most passionate about," explained Marquardt, "We're enabling more people to fully enjoy kiting, making it more comfortable for them to ride longer when they do." Gerhart added, "I'm stoked to see all of our concepts come to fruition in a more comfortable and easier to adjust harness!"
