Online Women’s Support Community Launches Social Media Contest to Rally Hope
Denton, Texas (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- To garner support for women’s health, the online woman-to-woman hysterectomy support community known as HysterSisters has announced the launch of a Facebook contest that will benefit three women’s health organizations with a total donation of $17,500.
The contest, called HysterSisters Give Hope, is a custom-designed voting application that operates exclusively on Facebook and is optimized for use on both desktop and mobile devices. After first authorizing the contest, Facebook users are able to vote daily for any women’s health organization participating in the HysterSisters Give Hope contest until midnight on April 22, 2014 at http://www.SistersGive.com. The contest features 22 non-profit women’s health organizations from all over the United States that specialize in everything from ovarian cancer to endometriosis.
At the end of the contest, HysterSisters (http://www.hystersisters.com) will donate a total of $17,500 to the three women’s health organizations that receive the most votes. “Our online community discusses women’s health and GYN issues on a daily basis,” Kathy Kelley, founder of HysterSisters, said. “Launching this contest to support GYN organizations seemed like the least we could do to rally hope for the future of women's health.”
Charity advocates within the HysterSisters community, known as HopeSisters are currently driving the contest and spreading the word so more people will vote for their chosen charities. These women have agreed to support the charities about which they feel most strongly and encourage others to vote for them on a daily basis. Further, the HopeSisters whose charities win the cash prizes will also win membership upgrades to the HysterSisters site.
