Key Characteristics & Benefits
This portfolio discloses technology that allows users to overlay widgets on programs, videos, and television broadcasts. Users can receive notifications like emails, Twitter and Facebook messages, and much more while they enjoy their favorite shows, movies, and sporting events.

The 764 patent discloses a navigation and display system that enables TV viewers to dynamically manage notifications and mix-in widgets on a main TV-picture. Widgets can be toggled on or off, and shown independently of the broadcast. It allows for easy navigation, use and configuration of widgets from different widget profiles. Users have the option of having widgets display continuously, or only when their status changes. Widgets can be themed with different backgrounds, text, fonts and colors based on the TV viewer's preferences. The entire system can be controlled by remote control or mobile application. This technology has the potential to create a consistent user experience across multiple devices.

The TV unit described by the patent is general and covers the all kind of smart devices like smartphones, tablets, TVs, and wearable devices.
