This IP package is available via sealed bid with a bidding deadline of November 20, 2014. Bids for these lots will be accepted starting 9:00 am PST November 18th through 5:00 pm PST November 20th.

“This is an early, successful portfolio which has yet to be licensed in the smart phone and tablet space,” says Dean Becker, CEO of ICAP Patent Brokerage.

Key Characteristics & Benefits
The power management family has been successfully licensed to most manufacturers of personal computer and monitor companies, with over $100m being collected in license fees. However, one member of this family, US 5,919,263, covers personal digital assistant devices including smartphones and tablets, and there is considerable residual value remaining in this area, which remains unlicensed. All the IP being sold was developed solely by the Elonex group in the course of its business of developing, manufacturing and selling personal computers and servers. Claims 11 and 14 of US 5,919,263 describe how smartphones and tablet screens minimize power consumption.

The other lot discloses how the processor in a PDA (which is a category that includes today's smartphones and tablets) can be directly connected to a host computer bus.

The patents in this portfolio have been cited by industry leaders such as Nokia, IBM, Apple, NEC, HP, TI, Intel.
