IdentityFirst.org Announces Inaugural Global Summit on Identity Management from October 29 - 30, 2014
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- IdentityFirst.org, the first industry forum focused on best practices for identity management in a world dominated by cloud and mobile technologies, today announced its inaugural community-sponsored Summit 2014: Define the Path to Identity First to be held October 29-30, 2014, at the Cavallo Point Historic Lodge in Sausalito, Calif. IT Executives from Yahoo, Netflix, Pandora, The Carlyle Group, Yelp and others will share their identity management transformation challenges and best practices in a series of keynote, panel and working sessions that explore the future of Active Directory (AD), cloud directory, mobile identity, social identity, the SAML standard, becoming an Identity First Enterprise and more.
Targeted at IT practitioners whose enterprises are rapidly adopting new cloud apps and extending on-premises applications to the cloud, Summit 2014 will reveal successful strategies and best practices related to strengthening security and identity compliance, reducing identity management costs and increasing employee access to the apps they need -- while enabling them to be good security citizens.
Summit session topics include:
• Findings of the 2014 Identity First Benchmark Study
• Why SAML? How are we going to get app vendors to adopt it?
• How to establish Workday-Driven identity management
• Cloud directory - Is AD Dead?
• What will replace Mobile Device Management?
• Social identity - Does it have a role in the enterprise?
• Identity management’s role in audit - Best way to scale compliance management
Participants in the working sessions will jointly craft the next iteration of the community-sourced “Identity First Manifesto” and “Quantifying the Benefits of Enterprise Identity Management.”

About IdentityFirst.org
IdentityFirst.org is a professional community and an online forum. It is the first industry forum focused on best practices for identity management in a world dominated by cloud and mobile technologies. This growing group of IT practitioners come from enterprises that are rapidly adopting new cloud apps and extending on-premises applications to the cloud but are short on resources and expertise to efficiently and securely control application access and manage the identities that touch corporate data. The community is committed to strengthening security and compliance, reducing identity management costs, and increasing employee access to the apps they need -- while enabling them to be good security citizens. Member-driven publications, events and primary research focus on collecting the goals, challenges and best practices that transform an enterprise into an Identity First organization.
Established in April 2014, the founding community of IdentityFirst.org experts includes Thomas Pedersen, CEO of OneLogin, and other noted IT and security experts from a number of companies including Yahoo, Homeland Security, Netflix, Zendesk, Dropbox, GoPro, Google, McKesson, Verizon, eBay, Pandora and hundreds of others.
