Current and Former Chairmen of the IASB discuss Standard Setting Issues in Exclusive Interview for Wiley Insight IFRS
(PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- In a unique event, Hans Hoogervorst, current International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) chairman and Sir David Tweedie, former IASB chairman, have given an exclusive interview for Wiley Insight IFRS in which they publicly discuss IFRS for the first time.
In the interview, which is hosted by Chris Nobes, Professor of Accounting, Universities of London and Sydney, they discuss current standard setting issues including revenue recognition, accounting for insurance contracts, the Conceptual Framework, the differences between public and private sector accounting and the role of prudence in accounting standards.
Additionally, Sir David Tweedie looks back at the highlights of his ten years at the IASB and Hans Hoogervorst talks frankly about the challenges of his role, being a non-accountant, the future of convergence and the arguments in favour of a unified set of global accounting standards.
