iHealth Announces iGluco Pro Diabetes Solution at American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) Annual Event
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (PRWEB) August 12, 2016 -- iHealth, a global leader in digital healthcare technology, introduces iGluco Pro, a diabetes management application at the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) event in San Diego, August 12-14, 2016.
iGluco Pro is a mobile diabetes management application and clinical practice tool that helps certified diabetes educators (CDEs) maintain a real-time connection with their patients between visits. The application allows diabetes patients to share their blood sugar levels, physical activity, nutrition intake, and medication use with their educators remotely.
According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes affects over 29 million people in the U.S. However, there are only 15,000 CDEs in the U.S. to support the growing number of diabetics. “iGluco Pro’s goal is to increase access to care for those with diabetes and improve workflows for CDEs,” says Leah Wang, PhD, MD, RDN, principal medical scientist at iHealth.
iGluco Pro allows users reach out to their primary CDEs between appointments. If the primary CDE is unavailable, users can message on-call CDEs for urgent questions. When patients are under urgent scenarios such as severe hypoglycemic events, on-call CDEs will provide back-up support if the primary CDEs are not available. With the goal of increasing real-time connection between visits, this program is designed to increase adherence to CDE recommendations by monitoring and intervening on nutritional intake and physical activity.
iHealth is currently accepting iGluco Pro CDE applications for pilot studies. To learn more about iGluco Pro or to register to test iGluco Pro, please visit booth 913 in the AADE conference hall or visit http://ihealthconnect.com/iglucopro.
