Stories like these touch people at the core of their humanity. A big part of relating to the audience is not for me to be a perfect person or to or to show them three bullet points of what they need to do. It’s about being real and sharing a part of me.
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (PRWEB) August 23, 2018
Every day Gabriela Rodil, an Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois-based business consultant and author, works with small and midsize companies to create their own successful futures. Rodil now wants to make personal and positive connections with audiences in her new added role as a motivational speaker.
Always expanding her horizons, Rodil realized her calling and decided 2018 was the year to take the plunge. What helped her in her decision was her involvement in small speaking engagements and her mentorship for women in the corporate world and for young Latinas through the nonprofit Fig Factor Foundation.
“I always received very good feedback either from doing short presentations or speaking in front of people but not as a keynote,” said Rodil, a Berwyn resident. “I also have a lot of experience as a mentor of younger women. The feedback from my mentees was that my involvement had made a big difference in their lives. They would mention things that I had talked about to them. I became very aware of the positive impact that I can have and I wanted to do speaking in a more purposeful manner.”
As a speaker, Rodil candidly shares her wisdom and expertise to corporate groups as well as women’s and minority organizations. Her main mission is activating audiences to follow their passions and goals in their lives. Topics include reflecting on life lessons, finding ways to overcome adversity, embracing diversity and encouraging people to develop the best versions of themselves.
She finds that her audiences enjoy listening about her life experiences and what she does differently now. She recently spoke at a WinTrust Bank event about facing fears. One of those fears she personally faced was going through a painful divorce while abroad that left her financially devastated. It was that moment she had to find solutions.
“Stories like these touch people at the core of their humanity,” she said. “We have those types of moments. A big part of relating to the audience is not for me to be a perfect person or to show them three bullet points of what they need to do. It’s about being real and sharing a part of me.”
This year Rodil will travel to Mexico, France and The Netherlands inspiring women of all ages to become strong and decisive business leaders. Close to home, she is actively involved with local companies and in creating programs with Berwyn’s Alderman Alicia Ruiz to give Latino residents a voice in their community.
