Imagined Interprises, Inc. Announces First-Ever Full Version SnarfQuest Release
Las Vegas (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- Publishing house Imagined Interprises, Inc. will bring fantasy legend Larry Elmore’s SnarfQuest back to life with a Kickstarter campaign commencing on March 28. With Elmore’s blessing, Imagined Interprises, Inc. has digitally remastered and professionally edited the popular comic strip that appeared in the monthly Dragon Magazine throughout the 1980s. Not only will Kickstarter backers have access to the entire updated story, but they will also be able to choose from a series of never before released SnarfQuest collectibles.
“I’ve been a huge fan of SnarfQuest since it came out when I was fourteen. I knew the day my local gaming shop was receiving their shipment of Dragon Magazine, and I would be there each month, waiting,” said Imagined Interprises’ author Maxwell Alexander Drake. “The fact that I have been a part of bringing this story back, and in a remastered format that exceeded even my hopes, is just fantastic. It’s awesome that those people who did not get the opportunity to read this 'back in the day' now have the chance to experience this wonderful tale.”
Several versions of SnarfQuest have been produced over the years, but none of these have been complete. Imagined Interprises, Inc. is offering the entire story, and the team has spent over nine months ensuring that the graphics are of pristine quality. The team completed the first professional editing pass on the story and replaced all of Elmore’s written text with digital text, per his request. Both the black and white pieces and the two colored stories that were done have been remastered.
While the main story is going to be remastered fully in black and white, Imagined Interprises will also release the two color stories that were done after the main story’s completion if the project’s funding goal is met and exceeded. At $25,000 they have promised to upgrade the five-page “Birds & Bats” story to full color, and if they reach the $30,000 goal they will upgrade the 12-page “Werewolf Adventure” to full color. If the Kickstarter project raises $250,000 or more, the team at Imagined Interprises, Inc. will upgrade the entire 30th anniversary edition of SnarfQuest to full color.
The Kickstarter project will also offer several special collectible items that have never been available to SnarfQuest fans before. Collectors coins, a deck of 52 playing cards, the SnarfQuest D20 rule book, a 20x30 photo print, and an official Backer’s T-Shirt are all available to backers. Imagined Interprises, Inc. is bringing backers the limited opportunity to get the same SnarfQuest miniatures that Ral Partha released more than twenty years ago. Iron Wind Metals still has the original molds used to make the figurines, and the company has agreed to do a limited run for the Kickstarter project backers.
Pre-order pricing for the SnarfQuest graphic novel starts at $30 and increases as more collectibles are added. A limited quantity of numbered and signed books will also be available for an additional fee of $10. To receive all the collectible items plus a signed copy, backers must pledge $170. Serious collectors who want to own one of Larry Elmore’s original, hand-drawn pages from SnarfQuest get to do so at the $600 pledge level. This level also includes all of the other items as well. Imagined Interprises, Inc. is even offering the ultimate experience reward for backers who pledge $1,300 or more. At this level, in addition to everything else, backers will be invited to join Larry Elmore and Maxwell Alexander Drake for dinner in Indianapolis, Indiana during Gen Con.
