Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. Worker Wins ‘I Make America’ Harley
(PRWEB) October 27, 2014 -- On Tuesday, October 21, 2014 the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) announced that Jonathan Egge, a technical sales specialist at Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. (KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens), won the I Make America custom-painted Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Egge’s name was chosen from among thousands of Americans who were entered for a chance to win the bike when they signed up as I Make America campaign supporters during the Harley’s tour across the heartland this year.
Egge was surprised with the red, white and blue 2014 I Make America Harley Davidson Road King at an event at the Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. manufacturing plant in Yankton, S.D. The event marked the culmination of a campaign by I Make America, AEM’s national grassroots advocacy effort, to highlight the importance of pro-manufacturing policies.
Egge said the I Make America tour was “about getting out, getting everyone signed up and getting them part of the conversation, going to Washington and saying, ‘Hey, we work in this country, let’s keep this country strong, let’s keep making things in America.’ Let’s get this legislation passed that we need to, [so] we can continue down the road.”
Egge was one of 11,700 Americans who signed up as campaign supporters during the I Make America Harley Tour, which covered more than 14,000 miles in 11 states, making 25 stops at AEM member facilities. I Make America has enlisted over 39,000 followers in support of pro-jobs, pro-manufacturing policies.
The Harley Tour rolled through Yankton and Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. (KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens) on June 9 for one of the most successful stops on the six-month swing. Hundreds of people who attended the event signed up for a chance to win the bike, and now, one of them has won.
“I was thrilled to learn that the winner of the bike was one of the many hard-working employees of the member companies we visited throughout the year,” said Dennis Slater, the president of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. “AEM member companies, their employees and communities are at the core of AEM’s mission, and the I Make America campaign has created tremendous opportunities for us to help manufacturers across the heartland learn more about how they can strengthen their voices on the issues that have real impact on their prosperity.”
“Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc. was honored to host one of the many AEM campaign events held around the country over the last several months. We never expected that one of our employees would be chosen as the winner of the Harley out of the thousands of manufacturing employees that took part in the campaign,” said Jeff May, president of Kolberg-Pioneer, Inc., KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens' South Dakota manufacturing facility. “We believe very strongly in the pivotal role that AEM plays in supporting our business and the many other equipment manufacturers they represent.”
