Scott Burchfield
Burchfield has broad experience in convenience and fuel retailing, grocery, drug and home goods. He utilizes his expertise and strategic vision to build and energize companies' organizational infrastructures, product and services, processes, and sales and marketing strategies, leading to optimized results. Burchfield builds strong teams by effectively communicating, gaining consensus, and by creating and executing plans that deliver measurable results.
Through the help of a mentor, Burchfield became the youngest District Manager in Eckerd history. In turn, he has guided many team members into senior leaders of highly successful companies through his various senior leadership roles. Burchfield served as VP of Operations for Giant Oil, Director of Strategy, Optimization, and Acquisitions Integration for Sunoco, VP of Operations Services & Process Improvement for Mid Atlantic Convenience Stores (MACS), and in other executive leadership roles for The Pantry Inc., Bed Bath & Beyond, and Winn-Dixie.
Mirek Kula
For over 30 years, Kula has been a proven contributor and hands-on practitioner in emerging trends and technologies in alternative and mobile payments, lottery systems, and mobile value-added services. Kula has extensive expertise in payments and lottery, along with strategic contributions in adjacent domains: loyalty, data analytics, omnichannel integration, and other transactional services.
Kula has worked extensively throughout North America, Europe, and several countries in the Middle East, Pacific Rim, and South America. Kula has been a major contributor in the development of mobile financial services and electronic wallet strategy, product lifecycle, and benchmarking efforts of several major MNOs and financial institutions, TSM services providers, and mobile payments platform suppliers.
For many years, Kula served as a senior member of the Innovation Center at IGT (previously GTECH), focusing on the generation, evaluation, and prioritization of new technology ideas and business models. As Director, Technology Standards, he served as the company's representative to several Technology Standardization Steering Committees and Working Groups, including NASPL, WLA, ANSI, ITU-T, NACS, and PCATS (now Conexxus), and formulated and managed the company's Academic Cooperation Program with MIT, Brown University, and the University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland.
