ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Incident Response Consortium (IRC), the first community driven, non-profit educational organization dedicated to cybersecurity incident response is proud to announce its latest upcoming Incident Response Conference, "IR18" to be held on September 5-6, 2018 at the Renaissance Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.
Following its successful inaugural IR Conference in 2017, the Incident Response Consortium is pleased to offer yet another informative and educational conference, seeking to bridge the knowledge divide amongst the incident response community and facilitate collaboration. The IRC is proudly collaborating with numerous cutting-edge sponsors to put together a robust curriculum for attendees, including Bay Dynamics, Braintrace, Capital One, Chronicle Security, Cybrary, Defense Point Security, Palo Alto Networks, Qualys, Symantec, Trend Micro, and XOR Security.
The IR18 Conference is excited to offer a robust agenda of informative seminars for incident responders of all levels and pleased to announce the addition of an entire day of wargaming sessions. The IR18 wargaming sessions are intended to simulate the real-world challenges and processes of incident response, making the IR Conference not only an educational resource, but a provider of real-world applicability of the knowledge and information shared at the event. The IRC is also about professional and career development for security operators; with a mission to train, educate, introduce and mentor others interested in the protection of commercial and government networks. Job placements, referrals, introductions, training, product training, all 100% free, and nothing required other than to pass on the message and help others in need. The IRC operates on the "Pay it Forward" model and strives to influence all our members to do the same.
"The IR18 Conference will allow us to build on last year's IR17 Conference success, and continue to offer the community the free-to-attend conference focused on collaboration and knowledge, without the presence of a sales agenda," stated Joseph Loomis, Founder of the Incident Response Consortium. "This year's event will be bigger and better than last year, offering attendees the educational seminars that were applauded at IR17, while incorporating this year's new wargaming sessions, as an 'Olympics' of cyber incident response."
