WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (PRWEB) May 30, 2014
Simplifile, the nation’s largest electronic recording (e-recording) service provider, announced three new Indiana counties – Greene, Owen, and Washington – have implemented e-recording of land documents with Simplifile.
E-recording is the process of recording documents such as deeds and mortgages via the Internet that would otherwise be sent by express mail or courier service.
For organizations such as title companies, banks, and law firms that traditionally submit documents to these three counties by mail or in person, the availability of e-recording enables them to have their documents recorded more quickly, securely, and efficiently online.
“E-recording speeds up the entire document recording process and makes everything run more smoothly,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “Customers no longer have to rely on the mail or drive to county to record their documents. Giving customers this option to record mortgages electronically and other types of land and property-related documents brings so many benefits to these counties and improves the level of service they can provide their customers.”
With e-recording, customers securely log in to Simplifile online, scan and upload, or prepare documents for recording electronically, and quickly submit them to county for recording.
In minutes, the recorder’s office receives, reviews, stamps, records, and returns the documents back to the submitter through Simplifile, eliminating paper waste, postage, and other recording costs.
With the addition of Greene, Owen, and Washington counties, there are now a total of 41 Indiana e-recording counties that offer Simplifile’s service.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for document submitters to be able to start e-recording with Simplifile.
