Indian River County Announces New E-recording Service with Simplifile
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. (PRWEB) July 21, 2014 -- Indian River County has initiated electronic recording (e-recording) of land documents with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, enabling document submitters to file documents with the clerk’s office more quickly and securely online.
The clerk’s office will be holding an e-recording kick-off meeting on July 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Jury Assembly Room #139 at the Indian River County Courthouse in Vero Beach, Fla., to demonstrate the system and help new or interested users learn the benefits of e-recording.
“We’re excited to partner with Simplifile and make e-recording available to our customers,” said Indian River County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Jeffrey R. Smith. “It’s very easy-to-use and provides a faster, more convenient method for document recording.”
Simplifile’s web-based service enables document submitters such as title companies, banks, and attorneys to electronically scan, upload, submit and track the status of documents sent to the county for recording via the Internet. Once the clerk’s office receives the documents online, they can then quickly record or reject and return the document, cutting the usual wait time for the submitter from days or weeks down to minutes by e-recording.
Supreme Title Solutions, located in Melbourne and Vero Beach, was the first to submit and record an electronic document with the county using Simplifile’s service.
“E-recording with Simplifile helps make our office run more efficiently, and it’s great to know that the people at the recording office and Simplifile are always there if we have any questions,” said Edie Smith, closing officer at Supreme Title Solutions.
Other benefits of e-recording include fewer payment errors, increased document security, and less overall paper waste.
Indian River is the 41st Florida county to adopt Simplifile’s e-recording service, joining more than 1,100 e-recording jurisdictions nationwide.
Simplifile representative Pat Sponem will be present at the July 24 kick-off meeting to help demonstrate the system. To RSVP for the Indian River County kick-off meeting, email Katie Andrews at kandrews(at)simplifile.com or call 800-460-5657 x1053.
