Indicate Media Teams With New York City Economic Development Corporation For NYC Next Idea 2014 - A Global New Venture Competition
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- Indicate Media, a digital and strategic communications firm, today announced it has teamed up with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) for the NYC Next Idea 2014 global new venture competition. Indicate Media President, Todd Barrish, will work with the finalist teams on perfecting their presentations for the final in-person pitch and judging event.
The event builds upon an ongoing relationship between Indicate Media and the NYCEDC, where Mr. Barrish participated in the NYC Next Idea 2013 competition and has delivered his own presentation on ‘Storytelling’ at prior NYCEDC events. Barrish, an expert in business communications and strategic storytelling has counseled individuals at startups to publicly traded companies on the art of storytelling to delivering powerful, compelling, and effective presentations.
Presented by NYCEDC in collaboration with Columbia Engineering, the NYC Next Idea competition gives innovative student-led startups from around the world an opportunity to pitch ideas that address urban challenges found in NYC, as well as ideas aligned with major industries found in NYC such as fashion, financial services, media, and advertising.

The six finalist teams that Indicate Media will work one-on-one with for their presentations include:
1. Edenworks: a U.S. company working to deliver the future of urban farming
2. AirCare Labs: a U.S. company offering clinicians a way to monitor patients via mobile devices
3. NYC Breath: a UK and U.S.-based company that makes a wireless pollution sensor for vehicles
4. NINU: a German company with the first digital pregnancy companion app-hardware-service
5. Magazino: a German company that sells automated storage solutions for entire pallets to single items
6. Senvol: a U.S. company that leverages 3D printing for supplying and distributing industrial parts
The finalist teams were selected from more than 240 applicants from 156 schools across 51 countries. Finalist teams will present their ideas to a prestigious panel of judges and compete for prizes including a cash pool of $35,000, free workspace in NYC, pro bono legal advice, and mentorship from the NYC venture capital and startup community.
The in-person presentations and final judging event is scheduled for 6:00pm Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at AppNexus New York Headquarters, 28 West 23rd Street, 4th floor.
