EC-Council Foundation announces more time for nominations to be submitted for the seven categories in the first annual InfoSec Tech & Exec Awards Gala. Nominations will be accepted through August 15, as requested by numerous companies looking to nominate their stand out employees. The Gala is a black tie event honoring information security professionals in seven different categories, ranging from ethical hacking to executive management. InfoSec Tech & Exec Awards Gala will take place September 14, 2016 in a black tie, invitation only event that will be a celebration of the professionals, partners, community, and contributors that support the success of EC-Council and EC-Council Foundation.

Many companies reached out to the Foundation to request additional time to craft their nomination submissions for standouts in their workforce. As the nomination process is mainly based on the narratives submitted by the nominators, nominators are looking to submit the strongest argument possible for awards that have previously awarded names like Mark Leary, CISO of Xerox and Ron Baklarz, CISO of Amtrak.

The Foundation is recognizing executives in four categories:
CISO of the Year - This award, available only to Information Security Executives (VP, CISO, etc.), recognizes an individual’s outstanding work in information security.

C|CISO of the Year - This award, available only to EC-Council Certified CISO s (C|CISOs), recognizes an individual’s outstanding work in information security. One C|CISO who has contributed to the information security industry, shown tremendous professional growth and achievement, and has promoted strong, innovative security practices will be honored.

The Foundation will also be honoring more technical practitioners of information security in three categories:

Ethical Hacker of the Year – This award will recognize the professional who best embodies the principles of ethical hacking by contributing to the industry and the positive view of information security professionals.

Forensics Analyst of the Year - This award will recognize the forensics professional who best embodies the principles of forensics analysis by contributing to the industry and the positive view of information security professionals. Forensics Analyst of the Year nominations will be evaluated based on the complexity of the achievements, the contribution to the industry, and the innovations outlined.

Pen Tester of the Year - This award will recognize the penetration tester professional who best embodies the principles of penetration testing by contributing to the industry and the positive view of information security professionals. Pen Tester of the Year nominations will be evaluated based on the complexity of the pen test achievements, the contribution to the industry, and the innovations outlined.

The Awards Gala will take place the night before the kickoff of both Hacker Halted, EC-Council Foundation’s flagship annual conference, and the Global CISO Forum, the executive-level event that brings together the top CISOs from around the world.
