Security researcher and author, Aditya Sood, will share his expertise at TakeDownCon Capital Region, EC-Council Foundation’s offensive and defensive cyber security and hacking conference. Aditya’s career began working on projects specializing in product and appliance security, networks, mobile, and web applications while serving Fortune 500 clients. He has been sharing his knowledge via his website and through countless research projects, including his most recent -- to be revealed at TakeDownCon Capital Region.

His talk, entitled Socioware: Dissecting Online Social Networking (OSN), is expected to be very popular as new studies reveal 67% of Americans actively use social media networking sites. “I will began by discussing in detail the exploitation model of online social networks, including using some real time case studies covering ClickJacking, LikeJacking, Java Drive-by-downloads, etc,” explained Aditya.

His talk will also present the results of his latest research and the complete infection model that leverages the details of social network malware. “This talk is important for the users to understand how OSN’s are infected to deliver malware and to conduct fraudulent activities,” says Sood, “and I will introduce the concept of spreaders that are designed specifically for threatening the integrity of web based messaging systems (chat panels) that are used by OSNs.”

Aditya Sood (Ph.D) is a security practitioner, researcher and consultant. Dr. Sood has research interests in malware automation and analysis, application security, ssecure software design and cybercrime.
